Cyberinfrastructures and Archaeology - CYBERARCH
The First International Workshop on "Cyberinfrastructures and Archaeology - CYBERARCH -" will take place in the Auditorium of the Conservatorio Santa Chiara, Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, San Miniato, Tuscany , from 16 to 17 October 2008 .
The Workshop is the first devoted to Cyberinfrastructures for the Archaeological Research and for the Management and Economical Exploitation of the Archaeological Heritage. The 2008 Workshop will focus on advanced Information and Communication Technologies in Archaeology and special attention will be devoted to applications in Sciences and Humanities related with the History of Humans and Ancient Societies, integrated with the History of the Earth. The participation of representatives from industry will make it possible to discuss future applications of basic research. The Workshop will be based on review talks summarizing the progress of complex projects and major facilities. Shorter talks will cover contributions on specific items. The presentation of posters is also foreseen.
